Nextel Coated Paper Cone Mid/Bass

The W15LY001 is a 6" paper cone mid/bass utilising a unique Nextel coating, which produces a smooth frequency response and low distortion.  

A large magnet system helps to produce good sensitivity and transient response, whilst a very long and lightweight CCAW voice coil allows good excursion. The chrome plated brass phase plug reduces compression due to temperature variations in the voice coil, increases long term power handling and eliminates resonances in the voice coil former cavity.

Heavy copper rings mounted above and below the T-shaped pole piece reduce non linear and modulation distortion and increase the overload margin.

As with all the Excel range, the W15LY001 also utilises and extremely stiff and stable injection moulded metal basket, which keeps all the critical components in perfect alignment. Whilst the large windows in the basket, above and below the basket, reduce sound reflexion, air flow noise and cavity resonance to a minimum.
